In the third year of the pandemic, after a full reopening, things seem particularly difficult. In the last month of 2022, the epidemic prevention and control measures of Huanggang Meifeng Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Huanggang Meifeng") underwent tremendous changes. Everyone witnessed the continuous adjustments and optimizations of the company's epidemic prevention policies in this battle against the epidemic.
On December 7, the new ten measures for epidemic prevention and control were optimized and implemented to minimize the impact of the epidemic on production. The company's leadership carefully planned and deployed, decisively took action, and urgently activated the epidemic prevention plan at the first opportunity. Members of the epidemic prevention work leadership group responded actively, with clear division of labor and responsibilities assigned to individuals. The entire factory worked together with a unified mindset, and all employees strictly adhered to the epidemic prevention regulations and discipline requirements, collaborating closely and performing their respective duties. Many employees prioritized the collective over their personal interests, remained at their posts, and worked hard to achieve a "double victory" in epidemic prevention and safe production, fully promoting the completion of annual goals and tasks.
To accurately grasp the new situation and tasks of epidemic prevention and control, control the process, flatten the curve, and delay the peak, the Human Resources Department issued an emergency notice: anyone with suspected COVID-19 symptoms, whether themselves or living with them, must stay home and not enter the factory, and must report to the epidemic liaison officer via WeChat immediately. Management at all levels needed to closely monitor employees' mental states and provide reassurance, which effectively avoided large-scale infections among the company's personnel.
However, the battle against the epidemic has not yet achieved complete victory, and "I have COVID" has become a new popular social term. The speed of virus transmission is far more "ferocious" than we imagined, and the pressure on epidemic prevention work in various departments is increasing daily, with employees gradually taking leave and staff shortages occurring in various departments. In the face of a severe and complex epidemic prevention situation and heavy production tasks, management at all levels in the production department remained steadfast at their posts, stepping up to fill vacant positions. There are no "chosen workers"; just ordinary people standing firm on the front lines, confronting the virus head-on.
When winter meets the COVID-19 virus, safety hazards multiply. Vice General Manager Chen Chunhong, responsible for safety, despite having grayed hair, worked tirelessly day and night with Safety and Environmental Director Wan Xiaopan, never taking a day off. Concerned about workers' poor conditions and staff shortages leading to lax safety management, safety personnel increased inspection efforts and prepared for emergency responses. They dedicated themselves to the front lines of epidemic prevention, reinforcing the safety defense.
"General Gao, I think I have recovered and can return to work tomorrow." Laboratory technician Hu Hongxiu said hoarsely on the phone to the quality director Gao Shengming stationed at the factory. General Gao on the other end replied, "But you just took a day off..." Before he could finish, Hu Hongxiu interrupted, "Seeing that more than half of my colleagues in the department have taken leave, those still at work are already doing multiple jobs. At this critical moment, I need to step up!" Only through hardship can courage be revealed, and everyone is demonstrating the strength of Meifeng through their actions.
Behind the effective service and strong support is perseverance, responsibility, and dedication. Canteen supervisor Shao Hongbing led the logistics support staff to overcome the difficulties of busy family lives and psychological fears. They arrived the earliest and left the latest. This lovely group of older brothers and sisters always said, "I must take good care of my health and cannot get infected; otherwise, it would be a problem for so many employees in the factory to have meals." They are the oldest but carry the heaviest burdens. They resolutely dedicated themselves to the front lines of epidemic prevention, delivering meals and medicine to employees isolated in dormitories and purchasing supplies. Despite the harsh conditions of epidemic prevention, they worked hard to overcome the cold weather and inconveniences of life, standing firm on the front lines day and night, never complaining of hardship or fatigue. Chef Qi Zelin worked continuously for half a month, and when company leaders advised him to go home and rest, he stated that during difficult times, when the company needs him, he should remain at his post and assist everyone in "fighting against COVID" with more nutritious and delicious meals.
The difficulty in obtaining medicine has unsurprisingly become a reality; buying medicine is hard, and buying antipyretics is even harder. Long Qin, head of the Administrative Management Department, and her family of four were infected. In the face of the epidemic, she could not stand by. While on an IV drip, she contacted various channels to obtain medicines, including pandemic-related drugs and antigen tests that were sold out in the market. Thanks to her efforts, these supplies were kept in the administrative office, providing strong support for employees to return to work as soon as possible.
Power is responsibility, and responsibility must be shouldered. The mission and commitment on their shoulders have driven the leaders of Huanggang Meifeng to persist until the last "positive case" is resolved. Seeing that department personnel returned to work in an orderly manner without affecting operations, they gradually took turns to rest, demonstrating their commitment and responsibility through their actions.
Performance is achieved through hard work, and miracles are created through effort. Every task, big or small, is accomplished through steady, persistent effort. United as one, we fear no difficulties or obstacles; working together, we can emerge victorious in every battle.
We continue to strive and persist in our efforts.
As the end of the year approaches, thank you to all Meifeng people! You have worked hard!
As General Zeng said, MFCI is even more wonderful because of you.
