At the beginning of 2022, Yu Xiong joined the company and was assigned to the refining position. Thanks to this relentless dedication, he earned his sulfonation operation certification just two years after joining the company, becoming one of the workshop's rare multi-skilled experts proficient in both refining and sulfonation processes.
Bravely taking on heavy responsibilities and overcoming cross-border challenges
In 2025, as the company launches its new project and puts it into production, sulfonation—a core process—urgently requires a seasoned leader who not only understands the technology but also prioritizes safety. Based on Yu Xiong's comprehensive capabilities and qualifications, the workshop has entrusted him with this critical responsibility. Although refining and sulfonation are located next to each other, the two processes differ significantly. While refining focuses on "separation and purification," sulfonation takes place in a more challenging environment, demanding stricter control over reaction rates, precise ingredient ratios, and stringent safety protocols.
In the early stages of his role transition, Yu Xiong faced a triple challenge: differences in process principles, distinct operational logic of the new automated control system, and a team with many newcomers who required him to balance mentoring responsibilities with production tasks. In response, he decisively formulated a "three-step" plan:
1. Efficient learning procedures that precisely identify key control points;
2. Firmly remember the characteristics of raw materials and the safety red lines, integrating risk awareness into every step of the operation;
3. On the basis of standardization, strive for precision and meticulousness, rigorously control parameter processes, ensure accurate, stable, and efficient operations, and guarantee safety throughout the entire process.

At the sulfonation post, Yu Xiong has always prioritized safety above all else. He proactively takes on the critical responsibility of equipment inspections, ensuring the safe operation of machinery and creating a secure environment for the workshop. As the team leader, he deeply understands the importance of collective strength and actively fulfills his role in "mentoring and guiding," fostering a collaborative growth system where "experienced staff mentor newcomers, and skilled workers assist those who are less familiar."
“Safety is a shared responsibility of the entire team.” In challenging working conditions, Yu Xiong prioritizes safety above all else, inspiring his team members to rigorously carry out patrol inspections. He efficiently assigns personnel to maintain their posts while promptly stepping in to support other areas when needed.
