In order to further enhance the leadership and management capabilities of middle and senior management personnel, and to build a more professional and efficient core management team, improve the construction of the cadre team hierarchy,1On January 22, the Human Resources Department of Huanggang Meifeng Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as 'Huanggang Meifeng') organized the fourth phase of training for management cadres on 'Work Assignment and Tracking', attended by General Manager Liu Jianjun and middle and senior management personnel at the deputy director level and above.
Zhang Yan, Deputy Director of the Human Resources Department, delivered the opening remarks. She reviewed the key points of the last course, mainly teaching methods for leadership development, the three elements to ensure the execution of goal task plans, and the five-step method for task assignment; she also previewed today's course content: focusing on how to ensure subordinates complete tasks with high quality after work assignments, and reminded attendees to listen carefully and take notes.
This management capability enhancement course is titled 'Work Assignment and Tracking: Guiding Subordinates to Complete Tasks', focusing on the skills and strategies for guiding subordinates to complete tasks, emphasizing the standards and procedures for work assignment, and guiding managers to effectively assign work, thereby enhancing subordinates' execution capabilities and achieving overall departmental efficiency.
At the end of the course, Deputy General Manager Liu Qiao first shared his training insights. He stated that watching this training video further deepened his understanding of the systematic concept of work assignment and guidance. As a manager, to promote the growth of employees and teams, one must cultivate employees' ability to solve problems independently, rather than adopting a 'nanny-style' leadership approach. It is essential to shift employees' mindset from 'I want you to do it' to 'I want to do it'.
Subsequently, Director Zheng from the Production Management Department also mentioned that he had overlooked guidance and tracking in daily management, and emphasized the need to strengthen communication between superiors and subordinates in future work; Minister Liu from the Equipment Management Department quoted a famous saying from former IBM President Lou Gerstner: 'Your subordinates will never do what you hope they will do, they will only do what you require and supervise.' He stated that employees can only take responsibility for their work when they receive clear information, and as managers, they must clarify work standards.
Deputy General Manager Chen Chunhong expressed that in actual work, it is common for managers to take on too much and to push employees too hard. He believes that this training will inspire more reflection among Huanggang Meifeng's cadres, and in future work, all management cadres must resolutely break free from fixed mindsets and comprehensively enhance their management capabilities.
Finally, General Manager Liu Jianjun delivered a concluding speech. He stated that most management cadres come from a technical background and are accustomed to viewing problems from a technical perspective. Managers should 'teach according to the material' based on the psychological and work maturity of their subordinates. Meifeng is currently in a rapid development phase, with both opportunities and challenges. Management cadres must remain vigilant and maintain a sense of crisis. They should create a strong learning atmosphere, adhere to the integration of theory and practice, improve problem-solving abilities, and thereby drive collective learning, building a learning organization that grows together with the enterprise.
The successful holding of this training further enhanced the management concepts, management methods, and strategic vision of Huanggang Meifeng's middle and senior management personnel. After the training, everyone expressed that they had learned advanced management ideas and methods, optimized their cognitive structure, and would apply them in future work scenarios. It is reported that the Human Resources Department of Huanggang Meifeng will conduct a management skills graduation exam at the end of November.
